Glacier National Park, in northern Montana, is one of the most premier national parks in the United States. In fact, it is known as the "Crown Jewel" of the Rocky Mountains. It is especially rewarding for hikers and was rated the Number 1 National Park by Backpacking Magazine.

You'll be met on Day One in Whitefish, Montana, which is a groovy little mountain town. We shuttle to Glacier National Park and take a short warm-up hike. We make our way along Avalanche Creek to a beautiful alpine lake.

On Day Two, we hike higher into the Rocky Mountains, the backbone of Glacier National Park, to a backcountry lodge called the Granite Park Chalet. In the middle of the park, the views are outstanding. Your guides will bring food in with them and prepare an excellent dinner in the chalet's kitchen. With only the stars and your fellow travelers, you spend the night in what feels like the middle of nowhere.

The next day we hike from Granite Park Chalet down to the Many Glaciers area, famous for its abundance of glaciers and alpine lakes. We spend the following day in the Saint Mary area of the park, giving us the opportunity to experience four distinct areas of the park in four separate days. Our final day we take a short lift-supported hike on the slopes of Big Mountain ski area.

Your guides are professional Glacier Park mountain guides, with insight into the area's flora, fauna, and geography. You will likely see wildflowers, big horned sheep, mountain goats, and perhaps even elk or grizzly bear.

During our daily hikes you need only carry a daypack with water, snacks, and sunscreen. Your gear is transported by van.
